Campus Affairs

Under the direction of Campus Dean, volunteers will take turn to be on campus each week, and to check in ‘Yard Duty’ volunteers. Assistants also oversee campus safety, manage the yard duty schedule, monitor and issue penalty fines for ‘no-shows’. Assist in Campus “Emergency Management”

Yard Duty

This is an important volunteer activity that assures the safety of our students and campus. On their scheduled days, volunteers will be assigned duties when checking in. Tenatively, AM session check in time is 9:45 am to be on duty till 12.15 pm. PM session check in time is 12:45 PM to be on duty till 3.15 PM. Number of service weeks are based on the current Yard Duty volunteers divide by the minimum number of required volunteers per week. (say, how are volunteers for Parking #5, Court Yard..etc) There is a penalty fine for no-shows.

General Services and Purchasing

Under the direction of the GSP Director, volunteers will take turns to be on campus to display and take down school flags/banners. Also assist PTA snack bar; site decoration and set-up of school events, functions, and activities; distribute school publications/flyers and shop for supplies; and any other misc. administrative assignments.

Academic Affairs

Under the direction of Director of Academic Affairs, volunteers will assist in managing (order, organize, distribute) text books & classroom material and serving as liaison between school and teachers. They will take turn to be in school to monitor text book needs and teacher sign-in sheet. (Knowledge of Chinese language is needed). At least 15 minutes prior to the school opening, Volunteer is required to take Teachers’ portable sign-in and mailbox from the school office (FO 225). A new, blank teachers’ sign in sheet should be prepared for teachers to sign in. At the end of the EP classes (3rd period), volunteer is to retrieve sign-in sheet and other papers, files, and bring the portable mailbox back to the school office.

Registration

Under the direction of Registrars, volunteers will help in school registration process.

Enrichment Program

Under the direction of EP Director, volunteers will prepare & organize EP contest. Participate & support regional EP contest event.

Treasury

Under the direction of Treasurer, Assistants will help in school accounting, payments, book-keeping and financial data entry process, etc.

School Activities & Programs

Under the direction of the Vice Principal, Activity/ Program Planners will help in planning and coordination of school year-round activities and programs, such as carnival, Halloween, new year and Christmas activities, lunar New Year activities, Chinese idol, etc.

School Development Advisory Committee

Advisors to the Principal for school development, improvement and directions in all aspects of the school. Committee will meet monthly, or as often as needed, to search, formulate and advise the school Principal for improvement and advancement in all aspects of school programs, activities, functions, and directions.

Principal's Assistant -

Under the direction of Principal, volunteers will assist the Principal in various school management tasks and functions, including but not limited to: School activity planning, coordination with school departments, teachers and parents association, weekly school bulletin, announcements,

Year Book & Publication

Under the direction of the Yearbook and Publication Director, volunteers will help in designing and laying out year book. They will also take and collect photos throughout the school year, in particular, at school events, functions and activities. Also help the Office of Principal in writing, editing and publishing various other school publications.

Web Site Management

Under the direction of the Webmaster, volunteers will assist in web site design, updates, and maintenance. This requires year-round commitment.

Community Outreach

Under the direction of Director of Outreach and Fund Raising, volunteers will research grant resources, application requirements and contacts. They will then write, edit and submit grant request/ application to financial resources. Volunteers will attend school fairs, set up information tables and distribute school flyers.

In Lieu Contribution

Families who are unable to volunteer may opt for this choice by paying an in lieu fee.
