Welcome to Contra Costa Chinese School Website

CCCS is proud to be a resource for the Chinese language and Chinese culture in our community.
Each student has unique learning experiences and needs, and together we will help each student build confidence in his or her Mandarin language skills. As a multi-ethnic and entirely volunteer-run educational community, CCCS’ parents, volunteers, administrators, teachers, students, and staff work together to create an academic, social, and safe environment where everyone can respect and learn from one another.

The school will start on Saturday, August 23, 2024

History

CCCS was established in Walnut Creek, California in 1976 by a small number of Chinese families in the area who wanted to provide learning opportunities about the Chinese language and heritage for the next generation. Their vision has been carried through and expanded into the entire community. We celebrated the school's 40th anniversary in 2016. See the photo gallery for the historic moments. We are proud to continue CCCS’ accomplishments in providing excellent Chinese language programs in the community.

Mission

Our goal is to facilitate the development of our students’ self-confidence in learning Mandarin, and to inspire each student to meet their academic challenges with openness, enthusiasm, and a willingness to solve learning problems. Within a caring, respectful, diverse multicultural environment, CCCS is dedicated to serve parents, students, teachers, and volunteers within an atmosphere of cooperation, with respect for community values and individual differences. CCCS is also committed to sustaining a school that meets the challenges of cultural diversity, individual learning needs, and new teaching methods and learning tools.

Culture of Respect

Culture of respect is expected between and among staff, parents, students and the communities that CCCS serves. Administration and instructors are always available to talk to parents and guardians. We believe it is the right, privilege and responsibility of each individual to contribute to and work in an environment of trust and cooperation.
